SYMBOL MATTRESS ACQUIRES ENGLANDER MATTRESS LICENSE FOR NORTHEASTERN STATES
CHICAGO — Top 10 bedding producer Englander Sleep Products has sold the license to make and market Englander-branded products in the New York/New England region to Symbol Mattress.
Englander CEO Kevin Toman said the acquisition of the license, which involves the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont, was effective Jan. 1. Symbol Mattress, based in Richmond, Va., is now shipping Englander products to the Northeast from its manufacturing facilities in Richmond and Reading, Pa.
“We’re extremely pleased about the continued expansion of Englander bedding across the country,” Toman said. “With a total of 12 factory locations, we now have coast-to-coast distribution of our products. I anticipate that we’ll add more factories and additional licensee partners before the end of 2016. We also plan to maintain our growth pace overseas.”
Englander products are currently manufactured at licensed factories in Chicago, Pico Rivera, Calif. and Tualatin, Ore.; at Symbol-owned facilities in Jasper, Ala., Olive Branch, Miss., Orlando, Reading, Pa., Richmond, Va. and Watertown, Wis., and at Southerland-owned plants in Nashville, Tenn., Oklahoma City and Phoenix.
