ALEXA CAN ADJUST GLIDEAWAY’S COMFORT BASE MODELS
LAS VEGAS – Glideaway is introducing a new adjustable base collection under its Comfort Base banner, with some models that are compatible with Bluetooth and Amazon Alexa. Consumers can just ask Alexa to raise their head, lower their feet, or to elevate the base, the company said.
The new models – Mica, Accord, Vesta and Odessa – feature a German-engineered motor, a strong angle iron and steel tubular frame construction, and upscale charcoal upholstery fabric. This new collection is designed for today’s sophisticated consumer and features the latest in technology, officials said.
The Accord, Vesta, and Odessa models are controllable through an app remote and are compatible with Bluetooth and Amazon Alexa through Wi-Fi. Alexa is a cloud-based voice service from Amazon. Alexa is the brain behind Amazon Echo and other Alexa-enabled devices. Using Alexa is as simple as asking a question, and Alexa will respond instantly, officials said.
Glideaway’s Accord Comfort Base model is Alexa compatible.
The wellness benefits of sleeping in elevated positions are widely known in the adjustable base industry but consumers have been forced into sleeping on their backs to receive those benefits. Now side and stomach sleepers in various price ranges can receive those benefits too. The new Comfort Base line offers consumers an optional Elevation Kit on the Accord, Vesta, and Odessa models, the company said.
In the Gold Series, the Mica offers a full range of positions with upper body incline up to 65 degrees and a lower body incline up to 40 degrees with simultaneous head and foot movement. The Accord offers full range of positions with upper body incline up to 65 degrees and a lower body incline up to 40 degrees with simultaneous head and foot movement. A step up from the Mica, the Accord features LED under-bed lighting, two pre-programmed positions, and Sleep Enhancement Technology. The Accord is also compatible with several high-end accessories including the Bluetooth Hub, voice control compatibility through the Wi-Fi Hub, and the Elevation Kit, officials said.
In the Platinum Series, the Vesta offers a full range of positions with upper body incline up to 65 degrees and a lower body incline up to 35 degrees with simultaneous head and foot movement. Created with a wall-hugging design, the Vesta allows for back travel up to 3.5 inches. The Vesta features LED under-bed lighting, two pre-programmed positions, and Sleep Enhancement Technology. While Bluetooth capabilities come standard in this Platinum series model, the Vesta is compatible with various accessories including voice control compatibility through the Wi-Fi Hub and the Elevation Kit, the company said.
Comfort Base’s premium base, the Odessa, rounds out the 2018 collection with several high-end built-in features made for the technology savvy consumer. This Black Series base features a full range of positions with upper body incline up to 65 degrees, a lower body incline up to 35 degrees, and motorized neck tilt with simultaneous head and foot movement. Created with a wall hugging design, the Odessa allows for back travel up to 12 inches. The Odessa features LED under-bed lighting, two pre-programmed positions, Sleep Enhancement Technology, Bluetooth, and voice control compatibility through Wi-Fi, officials said.
Retail pricing for the new Comfort Base collection ranges from $799 to $2,299 in queen.
Glideaway is also introducing six new models to its pillow collection. The new models – Verda, Erta, Alto, Arcus, Asperitas, and Nimbus – are made with CertiPUR–US certified memory foam, and are available in various comfort feels and profile heights.
All six models feature cooling TEMPTEC fabric in sophisticated patterns with sleek contemporary fabric in bold colorways along the side panels. TEMPTEC fabric removes humidity within the sleep environment and provides a cooler sleep surface, the company said.
Made with charcoal infused memory foam, the Verda and Erta are solid core pillows with a low profile. The dual-sided Erta redefines the term “cooler than the other side of the pillow” with a solid TruGel layer on one side. Both provide responsive support, moderately conforming to the head and neck as it settles into the pillow, officials said.
The Alto and Arcus are the collection’s two high profile, shredded core pillows. Both feature TruGel beads that absorb heat and provide maximum cooling, allowing the body to transition into a better night’s sleep. Designed with a comfort curve, the Arcus is curved to conform to the contours of your neck and shoulder and features pieces of plush shredded latex to offer pain-relief. Both Alto and Arcus provide soft yet supportive comfort, officials said.
The collection features two specialty pillows, each with customizable profiles. Sleepers can choose between a low or high profile with the Asperitas, a solid core charcoal infused pillow designed to be CPAP friendly with specifically engineered contoured memory foam. The Nimbus is Glideaway’s first fully customizable pillow. Sleepers can mix and match the plush ventilated memory foam and firm solid core memory foam inserts for a custom feel and varied profile of 4.5 inches or 7.5 inches to create the perfect pillow for any sleep position, the company said.
Retail pricing for the Glideaway’s memory foam collection ranges from $59 to $99 in queen. Glideaway shows in World Market Center C-1537 and C-1558.
